Traffic Safety
Members of the Rensselaer City School Community,
We are all #PartnersInSafety when it comes to our students. Today, we had an unfortunate situation where a student was struck by a vehicle while in the crosswalk. Fortunately, this student was not injured. Let's use this situation as a reminder to the importance of stopping at all stop signs, yielding to right of way, and driving with extreme caution and awareness when it comes to our students. Hopefully we can use this event to prevent any future potential injuries or vehicular damage.
The general traffic pattern during drop-off has improved significantly since the first day of school. Don't forget that if VRES parents choose to use the express drop-off in front of the auditorium, you can avoid the traffic by the playground and help the entire system to move more efficiently. If we all work together to do our part, we can both increase safety AND save time.
