Free Pre-Apprenticeship Program at HVCC: Explore Mechanical & Electrical Systems!

Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) is happy to offer a free Pre-Apprenticeship Program. This program is for people who want to work in mechanical and electrical systems. This training is hands-on. It is good for people who like to work with their hands. It is also good for people who want to learn about jobs in maintenance, manufacturing, semiconductors, and more.
Program Details:

  • Dates: July 28-31, 2025
  • Time: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM each day
  • Location: HVCC Troy Campus, 80 Vandenburgh Avenue, Troy, NY 12180
  • Cost: Free
What You'll Learn:
This program teaches important ideas about electromechanical systems. This will help you get jobs that are needed. Topics include:
  • Introduction to electromechanical systems
  • Basic safety for electromechanical systems
  • Fundamentals of industrial manufacturing
  • Elements of electrical and electronic theory
  • Introductory electromechanical test instrumentation
  • Fundamentals of mechanical system theory
  • Introduction to fluid power
Who Can Join:
  • You must have a high school diploma or something similar
  • You must be able to work in the United States
  • You cannot have been in a SUNY-funded pre-apprenticeship program before
