Free Pre-Apprenticeship Program at HVCC: Explore Mechanical & Electrical Systems!
Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) is happy to offer a free Pre-Apprenticeship Program. This program is for people who want to work in mechanical and electrical systems. This training is hands-on. It is good for people who like to work with their hands. It is also good for people who want to learn about jobs in maintenance, manufacturing, semiconductors, and more.
Program Details:
- Dates: July 28-31, 2025
- Time: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM each day
- Location: HVCC Troy Campus, 80 Vandenburgh Avenue, Troy, NY 12180
- Cost: Free
This program teaches important ideas about electromechanical systems. This will help you get jobs that are needed. Topics include:
- Introduction to electromechanical systems
- Basic safety for electromechanical systems
- Fundamentals of industrial manufacturing
- Elements of electrical and electronic theory
- Introductory electromechanical test instrumentation
- Fundamentals of mechanical system theory
- Introduction to fluid power
- You must have a high school diploma or something similar
- You must be able to work in the United States
- You cannot have been in a SUNY-funded pre-apprenticeship program before
